What goes in a driver qualification file?

Do owner-operators need a DQ file on themselves?
Yes — if you drive under your own authority, you are both the motor carrier and the driver, and a file is required on you.
How long are DQ file records kept?
Generally for the duration of employment plus three years, with some documents on their own cycles. We track retention so you do not have to.
